“We knew we wanted meaningful pieces in our new family room, and we knew that we loved Leslie’s work. But, that’s all we knew. Leslie met with us multiple times and patiently helped us figure out how we wanted our space to feel and what colors would encourage that feel. She started with two blank canvases, added the words of our family motto on one and the lyrics of a sentimental song to the other, and then she used her gifts to illustrate the heart of our family. We will treasure our paintings forever. My favorite part of the process was when she came to install them in our home and talked us through the details of her process that culminated in our masterpieces!”

“My wife and I were both overcome with grief after the sudden unexpected passing of my father. Not long after, we sat watching a documentary about the Avett Brothers that included their song “No Hard Feelings.” It hit us both profoundly and really encapsulated my dad. Sadness, tragedy, love, forgiveness. While a song about leaving this world for whatever comes next, it also gives a hopeful message - that what is more important in life is the love that makes those tragedies bearable. So we turned that over to Leslie. No problem, right! But Leslie did it. Her piece, our piece, gives us tremendous comfort and gives us a daily reminder of my dad that makes us happy. We couldn’t recommend Leslie enough.”

“I was in the process of adding more color and more “us” to our home when my husband gifted me with a commissioned painting by Leslie. To kick the process off, we talked about its size and its place on the wall. She asked me what kind of mood I wanted from it – it was for our bedroom, so I wanted it to be peaceful, cool, serene. I scrolled through her portfolio and pointed out paintings that I loved. When Leslie started on my painting, she shared with me a color palette of blues and greens and pinks, asking me if they were what I was envisioning. She also asked me if I wanted to see its progress or be surprised (I love surprises). When she finished the painting, Leslie sent me some pictures and a video of it, but that didn’t really spoil the surprise. It is gorgeous. I didn’t apply a drop of paint to it, but I am oddly proud of it. With some input on mood and color, and very little direction otherwise, Leslie created a painting that feels like “us.”
